If you are looking for a unique detail to add to your wedding day, having wedding time capsule cards is a keepsake you can cherish for years to come. In this post, I will share the details of this fun wedding trend along with a video tutorial, links to the products you use, and examples of how to incorporate them into your big day.
You often hear about the “post-wedding blues” when the confetti settles, the speeches are done, and you have returned from the honeymoon it can leave you questioning “what’s next” and the feeling of wanting the wedding to last longer. These time capsule cards give you the gift of reliving a piece of your wedding day every anniversary!
We placed these time capsule cards on each guest’s place setting instead of a menu. It included a card with instructions, an envelope, and a pen to write with. Guests were able to write us a note that would be opened on the anniversary corresponding with their table number and seal it for us to open on that anniversary year! Example: we will open the cards from table 5 on our 5th wedding anniversary. See the video below for details on how I made them and all the things you need to make your own!
You could also have the time capsule cards instead of a guestbook at a table for guest to complete. We found that having them at each place setting allowed for more people to have the time to fill them out, and gave them something to talk about during dinner!
